39th Environmental Permitting Summer School

Susan currently works as a Scientist Supervisor for the South Florida Water Management District in the Water Quality Treatment Technologies section of the Applied Sciences Bureau. Her work focuses on operations of the stormwater treatment areas (STAs) and studies in the Northern STAs.
Susan’s previous work experience includes managing natural areas for Broward County Parks and Recreation Division. She oversaw the management of 15 natural areas with responsibilities including invasive plant eradication and mangrove trimming. Susan also worked on planning and compliance for Everglades Restoration projects for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and has over 15 years of environmental planning, compliance and permitting experience on the county and State level. Susan also worked as a Parks Planner in British Columbia, Canada.
