39th Environmental Permitting Summer School

Patrick Shearer, PE, WEDG, is a green infrastructure designer and Senior Engineer for Resource Environmental Solutions (RES). He is one of two Engineers of Record for the City of Miami premier sea level rise adaptation project Jose Marti Park Adaptive Redesign project, providing civil engineering, innovative stormwater retrofits, and nature-based solutions. Mr. Shearer’s 16 years of experience in developed, highly sensitive watersheds have allowed him to develop a unique toolbox for engineering low impact development projects, living shorelines, and restoring waterways through urban restoration projects. These projects work hand in hand to protect citizens and the coastal cities we live in from flooding, water quality, and climate-based impacts. Mr. Shearer enjoys fishing, surfing, kayaking, and boating regularly with his family on the Florida waterways, and “living with water.”
